From the Past

Having been in the breed for over 40 years now we have seen and admired many fine specimens of the breed in those years. Excluding Afghans bred or owned by us, the following are some of the hounds we have admired most - for various and different breed qualities. Many of these have been included in our breeding program, directly or indirectly.

Aust Ch Coastwind Holyman (Imp USA)

Moses was imported to Australia by David Roache (Fermoy) in the late 1960's. He had a most profound influence on the breed in Australia directly and indirectly, though only producing a limited number of litters himself. He can be found somewhere in most modern Australian Afghan Hound pedigrees to this day.

Aust Ch Quom Let Them Talk

Bred and owned by Colleen Krause-Sydow (now Khoury), Isaac was a dog before his time. A grand-son of Ch Coastwind Holyman, Isaac produced the first litter for Taejon in 1976. He was truly a proud and arrogant Afghan Hound.

Aust Ch Kabik's Limelite of Aries (Imp USA)

Imported into Australia by Jim Hickie (Gengala) and Christine Anderson (Aries) in the early 1980's, Hogan quickly became a favourite of ours. Having bred him to our Isaac daughter (Taejon Paper Moon), much of our breeding today bears Hogan's heritage. Such a sweet nature and a great show dog.

Aust Ch Quom Star Spangld Banner

Dallas is another favourite of ours, and produced a litter of one for us at Taejon. Another grand-son of Ch Coastwind Holyman, Dallas' is famous for being the greatest champion producing home bred Afghan in Australia, as well as for his BIS at the Sydney Royal Show.

Aust Ch Khandhu Laser Litefoot

Another grand-son of Ch Coastwind Holyman, Tortie's showmanship, stamina and uncanny ability at specialties to come from down the line to the front of the line was admired by us. We bred a litter to Tortie which produced a great show girl for us (Ch Taejon Heaven On Toast).

Aust Ch Karakush Irresistable U

Farrah's easy, springy and ground covering movement was very much admired by us. We incorporated her into our breeding program with our first litter to Gr Ch Furbari Tiffany Diamond (herself a wonderful moving bitch) by using a son of Farrah.

Aust Ch Gengala Hijacked

Ernie is a dog whose outline and movement says it all. Bred to our georgous Ch Taejon In Profile Ernie produced a great litter of 5 champions for us. His son from that litter, Ch Taejon Parallax View has been a great producer for us and other kennels that have used him.
